This past Thursday, Housing Hope celebrated another year of continued effort to make a lasting impact on homelessness in East County with our family (you!) at the Feather Ballroom in Snohomish.
It was a true family reunion, complete with an amazing dinner, sweet dessert treats, stories of growth and success, and a few fun jokes along the way. We got the evening going with help from the always incredible Terry Lippincott and heard insight from across the agency from Housing Hope's Joan Penny (Sr Director of Resource Development, Marketing, and Communications).
Then came the post powerful moment of the evening; hearing from Miranda Wright, a Housing Hope resident, about her experiences being a participant through our programs and services, and how the support allowed her to find lasting stability for herself, her little brother, and big sister. We were brought to tears by her resilience, determination, and humility. Thank you so much Miranda for joining us and adding so much to this amazing night.
J and Karen Skelly then joined us on stage for a look into the future of investing in our community, and specifically East County. So much work has already been done, but we aren't stopping any time soon! The future sure feels uncertain at times, but together as a community and region, we can come together to overcome any hurdle put in our path.
We then enjoyed some sweet treats, the fan favorite Dessert Dash and raffle drawings. Congratulations to all of the winners and thank you to everyone that participated. Funds raised from both will directly help fund outdoor programs and materials for gardening across East County.
Our evening concluded with the last public address from our outgoing CEO, Donna Moulton. While we are all sad to see her go, the positive outlook on the future she talked about brought much hope and joy as we enter this next phase and continue our charge toward providing affordable housing, job training, childcare, and more throughout Snohomish County for years to come.
Together, we raised over $38,000 for East County initiatives!
