As National Volunteer Week comes to a close, we celebrate even more of the extraordinary individuals who help us provide hope and support to families in need. From long-standing family traditions of giving back to impactful community service, the contributions of our volunteers are a testament to the power of collective action.
Tammy: Continuing a Family Tradition of Giving Back
For Tammy, volunteering with Housing Hope is not just a personal choice, but a family tradition. “I believe in Housing Hope’s mission, and it’s important to continue the legacy of giving,” she shares. Tammy’s most rewarding experience has been seeing the joy on children’s faces during the holiday season when they receive Christmas stockings and treats. Through her work, whether it's volunteering her time or contributing to fundraising efforts, Tammy plays a vital role in supporting the families we serve.

Susan: Making a Difference One Life at a Time
Susan, one of our Madrona Ambassadors, is motivated by the desire to help individuals in her community who are facing homelessness. "Meeting residents and hearing their stories" has been one of the most meaningful parts of her volunteer journey. Her efforts through organizing emergency pantries and community engagement are crucial in helping those who need it most, and she’s making a real difference in the lives of the people she serves.
Denise: Helping Build Stronger Communities
Denise, another dedicated Madrona Ambassador, is focused on ensuring the success of Housing Hope’s housing programs. “I want to help ensure that the families we serve have the support they need,” she explains. Denise’s work in gathering products for development and her commitment to future interactions with residents through community dinners will help create a stronger, more connected community.
Judith: A Heart for Her Community
Judith, one of our Stanwood Ambassadors, volunteers because she wants to make a difference. "We make a difference," she says, and it’s this powerful belief that keeps her motivated. For Judith, every moment spent giving back is meaningful, and her dedication to helping others through Housing Hope helps us extend our reach to even more individuals in need.

Jerry: Creating Connections and Making an Impact
Finally, we spotlight Jerry, a Madrona Ambassador whose most rewarding moments come from seeing the joy of residents who find a safe space through Housing Hope. "Feeling needed and appreciated" is what motivates Jerry, and the happiness she witnesses in the faces of residents drives her continued dedication. Jerry’s behind-the-scenes work frees up staff to focus on other crucial tasks, and her commitment to Housing Hope is a key part of our success.
As we conclude this week of celebration, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to all our volunteers—each of whom plays an invaluable role in the mission of Housing Hope. Whether they are behind the scenes, organizing drives, or directly interacting with the families we serve, their contributions are immeasurable. Thank you to Carol, Tammy, Scott, Wendy, Judith, Jerry, and all our volunteers who help us create lasting change in our community. Your dedication continues to inspire and transform lives.
