Housing Hope was founded in 1987 to address the growing problem of family homelessness in Snohomish County. Our vision was to provide affordable housing and social services for families in need throughout the County. First, we focused on Everett. We then expanded to North County, and next to East County. Now in our fourth decade of operation, we are finally turning our attention to South County.
Service-Supported Homeless Housing
Housing Hope offers permanent, affordable housing with voluntary access to services to homeless families with children. Rent amounts are based on income and family size.

In service-enriched housing, Family Support Coaches and parents work together to develop goals and plans to move forward, including education, access to child support, legal remedies, quality childcare, and preparation for employment. During weekly visits to families in their homes, case managers address daily problems, reinforce successes, and offer guidance.

Below Market Rate
In addition to our Service Supported Homeless Housing, Housing Hope also offers units at below market rate to qualifying applicants*.

Team HomeBuilding
Housing Hope has helped 328 households attain homeownership through the Sweat Equity Team HomeBuilding program.

Building Groups are comprised of five to ten, low to moderate-income Owners/Builders providing “sweat equity” instead of a down payment. One-third of the work is hired out and performed by subcontractors, and the balance is done by the Owner/Builders, their families, friends, and community volunteers. Each team member works on all the homes within the Group and no one moves in until all the homes are completed.
We recognize that it takes a combination of housing and support services to give struggling families opportunities to become self-sufficient. Our programs offer critical support to families at each step of the process.
Homeless families come to Housing Hope at times of desperation, and shelter allows them safety and some time to regroup so that they can begin to think about their future. We have two locations that offer emergency shelter, Windermere Crossroads Shelter in Everett and at Lervick Family Village in Stanwood where residents can stay for up to 90 days.
Emergency shelter helps families cope with their immediate housing crisis. As part of our response to homelessness, residents of our emergency shelters receive wraparound services that include intensive case management and special assistance to make sure they have the basics to begin a household.
Some families re-enter regular community housing after a brief stay. Many others move on to Housing Hope's Service Supported Homeless Housing.
